Dealing with several vendors to meet your wood and upholstery requirements can be time consuming, not to mention, costly. At Newport Furniture Parts we can satisfy both of those needs, therefore eliminating the use of multiple vendors that is usually required in furniture manufacturing.
Our qualified personnel, expertise and cutting-edge technology can provide you with top quality upholstery using material provide to us or our own in-house material and fabric. Please note that, when required, our upholstering procecedures can meet the California 117 and 133 Fire Requirements.
Upholstery Equipment
At Newport Furniture Parts, we have all the necessary material, equipment, tools and expertise in order to upholster any type of chair. From the spring system, the cushioning, the padding, to the final fabric or leather covering, we can save you time and money by completing your furniture in-house as opposed to having you deal with multiple vendors, or doing it yourself.
We will upholster furniture built at Newport, as well as furniture you have in your possession.
CNC Fabric Cutting
Using a CNC (Computer Numerical Control ) fabric cutter we are able to automate the fabric cutting operation. This tool improves our efficiency by increasing the speed of production. The CNC fabric cutter also provides maximum precision and reduces costs by saving time and optimally using raw material thereby reducing waste.
Fabric Availability
To meet your upholstery needs we can source the fabric. Our many fabric vendors offer a limitless array of fabrics from which to choose and all the fabrics available for upholstery are treated to prevent staining.
If you prefer to be sure that you get exactly the fabric you need, we also offer a Customers Own Material program (COM). Therefore, if you have a specific fabric need, you can ship us the material, and we will gladly take care of your upholstery request.
Foam Padding
To complete the upholstery of your furniture to meet your expectation we offer a wide rang of foam padding for all uses. Whether for commercial or residential furniture, chair seats, backs or arms, we have offer a wide range of foams in various density and quality to ensure your finished product is to your satisfaction and meets the necessary requirements.
If you prefer to provide us with the foam of your choosing, you can ship us the foam to be used for your products.
California Fire Requirements
When required, Newport Furniture Parts can meet the California Fire Requirements 117 and/or 133. It should be noted that several other states have adopted the California Fire Requirement 133 for the same types of public areas in their states. Be sure to get informed!
All upholstered furniture sold in California must comply with the California Fire Requirement 117 as a minimum standard. The Fire Requirement is both an open flame test and a smouldering cigarette test for the component materials used to make residential upholstered furniture which will be sold in the state of California. All upholstered furniture components except frames must comply with this test procedure and criteria.
California Fire Requirement 133 is a more stringent fire test for furniture that is manufactured for use in certain public areas and buildings. Essentially, any area which allows seating for ten or more people.
In order to meet the requirements of the 133 Fire Code, a special Dupont™ blocker material is added in the upholstery process. This material, which prevents the spread of the fire, is wrapped around the foam padding. This material will ensure that your chair meets the toughest fire code in the country.
